Finger Millet Fritters

Rainy and cold evenings are always a joy.

Sitting near the window and starring the drizzling raindrops and listening to the whispering breeze makes us longing for warmth.

Here is a perfect snack to enjoy such a beautiful atmosphere with hot tea.


What do you need for 4 Servings

  • 2 cups (300 gm) finger millet / ragi flour

  • 1 tbsp fried gram

  • 1 tbsp peanuts

  • 1 tsp fennel seeds

  • 1 tbsp fried gram flour

  • 2 green chilies

  • 1 tsp red chili powder

  • 2 onion (medium sized)

  • Few curry and coriander leaves

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup of water

  • Oil for frying

Preparations

  • Sieve the flour.

  • Thinly slice the onions and finely chop the chilies.

  • Crush the peanuts and keep it aside.

Lets Cook

  • Mix all the ingredients one by one to the flour. [PIC 1 & 2]

  • Slowly add water and start mixing it. [PIC 3]

  • Knead it until you get the desired consistency. It should not be too dry or too wet. [PIC 4]

  • In medium flame pour oil in a kadai.

  • When the oil is hot enough for frying sprinkle the flour mixture. [Reference video below]

  • Let it fry for 3-4 mins until it turns dark and crunch. [PIC 5 & 6]

Healthy and crispy snack is ready, Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer it to be spicy add more chilies.

  • Besan flour can also be used instead of fried gram flour.
