Mushroom Manchurian

Manchurian dishes cooking technique is flexible enough to create many varieties using different vegetables with the same base and usually involves two-stage preparation.

Its unique seasoning and rich taste make it a great appetizer.

What do you need for 2 servings

Used Measuring (1 Cup = 255 ml)

For Deep Fry

  • 200 gms button mushrooms

  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp corn flour

  • 3/4 tsp ginger garlic paste

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2-3 tbsp water

  • oil for deep fry

For Manchurian

  • 1 tsp ginger (minced)

  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)

  • 1 onion (chopped)

  • 1/2 cup capsicum (diced)

  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 2 tbsp chili sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp vinegar

  • 1/4 tsp red chili flakes

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • 2 tbsp spring onion

  • 1 tbsp of oil


  • Mix all purpose flour, corn flour, ginger garlic paste, salt and pepper with 2 tbsp of water to make a thick paste. [PIC 1]

  • Cut mushrooms into halves and mix it with prepared paste. [PIC 2]

Let’s Cook

  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the mushrooms. [PIC 3]

  • Heat a tbsp of oil in another pan, when its hot add minced garlic and ginger. Saute it for 30 secs. [PIC 4]

  • Now add chopped onion and cook until translucent. [PIC 5]

  • Then add diced capsicums and cook for 1-2 mins. [PIC 6]

  • Now add red chili flakes, salt and pepper and give a quick stir. [PIC 7]

  • Add chili sauce, tomato ketchup and soy sauce and mix them well. Add water if required.

  • Cook it for a minute and then add vinegar. [PIC 8]

  • Add fried mushrooms when the sauces thicken. [PIC 9]

  • Mix until the sauce coats well with mushrooms.

  • Finally add chopped spring onions. [PIC 10]
